The Arts Fund is pleased to announce to opening The American Dream curated by Joe Beraldo of Beware of the Humans. A reception will be held at The Arts Fund Gallery on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5-8pm during the Funk Zone Art Walk. The American Dream will feature work by an eclectic group of artists, including Joe Beraldo, Martin Diaz, Chadillac Green, Skye Gwilliam, Maiza Hixon, Ken Knox, Philip Koplin, Dan Levin, Danny Meza, JJ Ortiz, Tom Stanley, Richard Stokes, and Jake Vantiger.

Artists in the exhibition take on the myth that anyone can attain wealth and equality in the United States of America. Ken Knox and Joe Beraldo specifically address the rhetoric of "Make America Great Again," Donald Trump's campaign slogan that reverberates through the airwaves and on TV. In diverse media, each of the artworks on view in The American Dream reflects issues and ideals being debated in America today, from civil liberties and social justice to gender equality and environmental protection.

The exhibition will be on view until March 26, 2017 at The Arts Fund Gallery, located at 205-C Santa Barbara St. Regular gallery hours are Wednesday-Sunday from 12-5pm. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
