The 19th Annual Individual Artist Awards
Submission Deadline: Friday, November 2, 2007
About the Awards
The Arts Fund invites Santa Barbara County artists to submit entries for its 19th annual Individual Artist Awards.
This year, awards will be offered in:
- Contemporary Abstract Painting
- Solar Plate, Monotype and Monoprint Printmaking
- Playwriting
The winner in each discipline will receive an award of $2,500. All IAA winners and honorable mention recipients will be invited to participate in a group exhibition occurring in early 2008. In addition, IAA winners in the visual arts will be granted a solo exhibition at The Arts Fund Gallery; an opportunity for a public reading will be arranged for the winner in Playwriting.
The Individual Artist Award program is funded entirely through private donors. Since 1988 The Arts Fund has awarded over $130,000 to more than 100 professional artists in the visual arts, the performing arts, and literature as part of its commitment to nurture the arts in Santa Barbara County.Application Procedure and Eligibility
This competition is open only to Santa Barbara County residents over 18 years of age who have resided in the county since August 1, 2006 and have not previously won an Individual Artist Award. Quality and originality will be the chief criteria in judging by experts in each discipline. As much as possible, all judging will be conducted anonymously.
